CHRONOLOGIC RESUME

September 25, 1879 - Inauguration of the mule traction tramway service in Campinas.

October 9, 1890 - Contract agreement for the construction begining of the Ramal Férreo Campineiro.

September 20, 1894 - Official inauguration of the Ramal Férreo Campineiro.

June 24, 1912 - Implantation of the electric tramway service in Campinas.

March 18, 1917 - A Companhia Campineira de Tração, Luz e Força took care of the Ramal Férreo Campineiro. End of trains services  (Cabrita) between Campinas e Cabras.

1917-1919 - Electrification of the line Campinas-Cabras and the gauge increase from 0,60m to 1,00m. Start of the passenger and load services using the J G Brill's big tram.

1928 - The Electric Bond and Share Company (EBASCO) acquires the CCTL&F and assumes the electric tram service in Campinas.

October 27, 1950 - The Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz assumes the command of the tramway service in Campinas.

August 18, 1952 - The CPFL transfers to Estrada de Ferro Sorocabana the line Campinas-Cabras.  

November 12, 1952 - The Sorocabana ends the load service transportation to the Cabras line.

22 de Abril de 1953 - The Sorocabana try to finish the tramway service but under a strong popular activity decides to continue with it but eliminating  the "bondão" and starts a passenger/load transport service using an open type tram car.

September 30, 1954 - The CCTL&F (subsidiary of the CPFL) desists of the tramway operation in Campinas and transfers the service to the city government.

February 10, 1960 - The Sorocabana stops the tramway service to Cabras and the Companhia Campineira de Transportes Coletivos assumes the line, deactivating it and using only the first 7km.  It was the end of the Sousas and Cabras tramway service.

May 24, 1968 - The C.C.T.C. stops its activities with the tramway service in Campinas, remaining only with the buses service. This is the definitive end of the Campinas' tramways.

September 22, 2000 - Restoration and re-inauguration of the Joaquim Egídio station.
